Top 5 Non-Wargame Collections/sets

Most of my non-wargame series are straight euros or train games. I never got into families or series with anything else as much as I did with wargames.

I was suspicious of what I would get from Wallace’s game subscription series, and decided to pass. In retrospect I shouldn’t have been there were some good games there.

So on to my 5 groups of games

  1. The 3M bookcase games. Granted they my have been $5 to $10 but that is in 1960’s dollars.
I still have Acquire, Breakthru, Stocks & Bonds, Win Place Show, Regatta. Lost or destroyed over the years were Feudal, Venture, Twixt, Facts in Five
  2. Concordia with all but the Gallia expansion
  3. Empire Builder (Crayon Rails) I have most of the locations, Still prefer Empire Builder (US) and Eurorails (Europe) the most. Don’t get to play them as much as I used to, they are slow games and can take some time.
  4. Ticket to Ride. Like Mrs. Bart – my wife loves TTR, so I have all the expansions but Asia and the just issued Japan/Italy. It is also good to pull out when company comes over.
  5. 18xx – Started with 1830 in the 80’s. Later added 1870, 1856, 1835. 18AL, 18GA for 3 player, Pnp versions of 18VA, 18FL for something different and the current GMT issue of 1846. Right now 1846 is getting the most play.
